The Hox Holborn
A series of group shows with The Rookery Artists at The Hoxton Hotel Holborn
Nov 2024 to September 2025

Fallen Petals emerged from a deeply personal reckoning with my identity as an artist and the fragility of life. A period of reflection and self-doubt—an existential crisis—had left me questioning my purpose and practice. This questioning was brought into sharp focus by the tragic loss of a young studio mate, whose death  reminded me of the brevity and preciousness of life. In that moment, I resolved to stop second-guessing myself and instead make art that brings me joy.

This series of flower still lifes originates from a place of sadness but is ultimately a celebration. Flowers have a universal resonance; they are symbols of beauty, impermanence, and renewal. They mark life’s most significant moments—funerals and weddings alike—and connect us to a sense of shared humanity. Their ephemeral nature reflects the fleeting moments of joy and sorrow that define our lives.Creating Fallen Petals was an act of healing, a reclaiming of purpose through the simple yet profound pleasure of painting. The works are both meditative and vibrant, inviting the viewer to reflect on the tension between loss and beauty, mourning and celebration. Through these paintings, I aim to share not only my personal journey but also to prompt a shift in perception—an appreciation for the transient and the enduring, the pain and the joy that flowers embody.

In their quiet presence, these works are fragments of a broader narrative, an invitation to see beauty as a powerful and transformative force, even in the midst of sorrow.

All works are for sale.
